Martin Maehr




Martin Maehr has published well over 100 research and theoretical papers in well-recognized scholarly journals. He has also authored or co-authored several scholarly books and widely used measurement instruments. He is the co-editor of a major series (Advances in Motivation, JAI Publications, An Imprint of Elsevier Science), now into its 13th volume. He is also the recipient of numerous awards, fellowships, and research grants including a NIMH Special Postdoctoral Fellowship, A Pew Foundation Resident Fellow at the Erasmus Institute (University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana), and A Special Senior Scholar Fellowship at Leuven University, Belgium. He recently directed a program of research on "Motivation and Achievement in Groups" funded by The Spencer Foundation, The National Science Foundation, and the University of Michigan. He was formerly Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana where he also served as Chair of the Department, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, and Director of the Center for Research of Human Development.
