David Pagni

BIO:
David L. Pagni is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at California State University, Fullerton. Since coming to Fullerton in 1969, Dr. Pagni's interests have ranged across the spectrum of mathematics education from grades K-University. His teaching fields include mathematics, mathematics learning, teaching and technology. His books and articles include the Santa Ana/Fullerton Elementary Mathematics Project (SAFEMAP) Books 1-3 and over 125 articles in professional journals on mathematics content and the teaching of content. Dr. Pagni was selected as the Outstanding Professor for California State University, Fullerton in 1993-94, Outstanding Teacher by the Orange Chamber of Commerce in 1994, and Outstanding Professor for the twenty-two campus California State University System in 1994-95.

Dr. Pagni has been Principal Investigator for four National Science Foundation projects involving professional development of K-6 teachers and co-Principal Investigator for an Eisenhower project for 7-12 mathematics teachers between 1987 to present. He is currently the Principal Investigator for a National Science Foundation Local Systemic Change project (K-9) in Santa Ana. He has served as an officer in the California Mathematics Council and Orange County Mathematics Council and has made over 380 presentations at conferences or schools to mathematics teachers at the K-12 levels. As director of the CAPP funded Mathematics Diagnostic Testing Project, he has hosted conferences for grade 7-12 mathematics teachers in Orange County since 1986. Dr. Pagni is also the editor of the Orange County Mathematics Council newsletter (Math Matters) and the CSU Fullerton Mathematics newsletter for local secondary school mathematics teachers (The Problem Solver).
